PRESS RELEASE
July, 2003

Michael Gibbs' has received recognition from Communication Arts magazine by having three illustrations selected for inclusion in its prestigious Illustration annual.
"The Devil?" was originally published in Realms of Fantasy magazine, accompanying a story about a man who is mistakenly perceived to be the devil by neighbors in his English Village.
"My First Art Teacher" is an unpublished illustration, created for a gallery exhibition by illlustrators and fine artists who were given free reign in depicting their first art teacher. The shoes in this piece signify father and son.
"Daybreak", created for a Regent University promotional booklet, depicts the University's drama department, which focuses on uplifting stage productions.
Each year, a jury of illustrators and art directors selects the best and most innovative illustrations of the year from a field of some 6000 entries. The selected illustrations -- 370 of them -- will be published in the highly acclaimed Illustration Annual 44 in July, 2004.
You can see the full illustrations in the award winning art gallery on michaelgibbs.com.
